Dashboards are grids of panels, each backed by an independent query (SQL or PromQL) against organization streams. Importing Grafana JSON migrates supported content into the MoleSignal dashboard model.

Panels

Each panel runs an independent query through a visualization plugin. New dashboards use a 24-column grid, and the model accepts 1–48 columns. Supported types are: Each panel query can set an optional legend template (for example {{service}}) to label series. Grafana imports map legendFormat into this field.

Variables

A dashboard can declare template variables shown in a bar above the grid. Variable values are substituted into every panel’s query at run time, so one dashboard can be re-pointed at a different service, host, or environment without editing each panel.

Time range and timezone

The dashboard time range applies to every panel. Chart axes and tooltips render in the configured preferred timezone. One timezone-picker change applies to every panel and the rest of the app, including tables and detail views, for consistent timestamps.

Folders

Group related dashboards into folders for navigation and access. The dashboards list can be filtered by folder and searched by name.

Import from Grafana

Paste or upload a Grafana dashboard JSON under Dashboards → Import. Panels, grid positions, variables, and the time range are mapped to the MoleSignal model. Supported query targets preserve the source SQL or PromQL. Legacy graph/line, bar, and bargauge types map to current plugins; unsupported visualizations fall back to time_series and should be reviewed after import.

Export, report, and share

Create a scheduled report from a dashboard for PDF, PNG, CSV, SVG, or JSON delivery. Use Share for authenticated, cross-workspace, or restricted public access. Public panels execute only saved queries and remain subject to workspace sharing policy.

Permissions

  • dashboards.read opens dashboards and folders.
  • dashboards.create, dashboards.edit, and dashboards.delete manage content.
  • dashboards.share creates or rotates resource shares.

Dashboard API

Create dashboards and folders over the HTTP API.
